MongoDB the ever popular NoSQL open source database yesterday released Atlas; hosted MongoDB instances as a service in the cloud. Subscribers can now easily set up, operate and scale their MongoDB deployments. All this is provided through a pay-as-you-go model which allows the users to pay via an hourly bases.

Pricing:

Atlas instance pricing will depend on your regions as well as your instance use. For example though an instance on the west coast with 2GB memory and 10GB Storage will cost you $0.026 per hour. Prices as you can imagine go well beyond this.

Additional Provisioned IOPS Storage

$0.00023/GB per hour

IOPO Hours (Speed)

$0.00012/IPOS per hour

Additional Standard Storage (EBS)

$0.00018/GB per hour

Options for transferring data between AWS is also available at a relatively low rate. Rates change based on the locality of your current AWS instances.
